In ancient cultures women were revered for being full-figured ~ that fullness represented their life-giving nature. The belly is a powerful place, our womb space and source of creativity and Wisdom Within …
The “secrets” of the dance were shared by women in an oral tradition handed down from grandmother to mother to daughter revealing feminine body wisdom unfurling the body into joyful physicality ~ sensuality is to be cherished, the womb is ‘paradise’ and to be full-figured is to be celebrated! Discover traditions dating back to antiquity enhancing one’s beauty, grace and playfulness and realize that all of these qualities are ageless, timeless.

MORE: At the dawn of the 20th Century two young American women ~ Isadora Duncan and Ruth St. Denis ~ saw that at that time the world of dance, limited to ballet and tap, held an emotional and spiritual emptiness, and they dreamed greater things for dancing…. inspired by ancient movement rituals of the near and far East for St. Denis and Greek vase art for Duncan… They both believed that they should be free to move expressively, communicating profound thoughts and feelings. Their daring to break convention while re-visiting movement and ritual steeped in antiquity remains a great inspiration to us all!
“I am not a particularly coordinated person when it comes to dance but Tahya is so patient and great at describing what we are doing. I was surprised to find muscles in my body that I had not used in a long time. For those who are curious, this class is not a hard sweaty work out, rather it’s an incredible foray into mind and body connection. After surgery this past winter I’ve been navigating what my new body is all about and class with Tahya is helping me foster a new kind of connection with my body and I really appreciate it. It’s such a treat for yourself!”

“Tahya offers the perfect fitness class!
“Admittedly, I had some concerns because of physical limitations in my hips, back and knees. Furthermore, being only one year out from the end of active breast cancer treatment, I had been struggling with my energy and self image.
“Tahya’s class was gentle allowing me to work at my own pace. I was a little cautious and not always on beat but…. I noticed my playfulness and body confidence start to return as I also found the movements actually helped to unlock my hips and back. In fact, I noticed the movements as taught by Tahya made my body feel better after the first class! I felt encouraged, found myself practicing at home, and I am happy to see bonus results after a little over a month in the slimming of my waist and belly.
“I highly recommend the Tahya Technique™ to restore your sense of well-being!”
