Description
Online 3-class session: Second Saturdays in FALL
Oct 12 – – Nov 9 – – Dec 14
Awaken sacred rhythms within, return to being in rhythm, and step forward in your life with grace and being in sync! The focus is on welcoming beginners/newcomers to the frame drumming path, introducing the Herstory (the use of percussion instruments primarily played by women in ancient cultures), the basic strokes, and a couple of groovy rhythms that are fun to play so that when the day comes that you’re ready to take a deeper dive, you will be well-equipped with the basics.
Beginners-Intermediate welcome. Rhythms vary from class-to-class with various tempos explored within each lesson.
Dive into frame drumming technique and rhythms that are also applicable to Egyptian tambourine known as riqq, finger cymbals and/or Systrum ~ as inspired by Glen Velez‘s Handance method and the pedagogy of frame drummer, teacher, and drum historian Layne Redmond.
Interested but have potential conflict/s on the class dates? Sessions are recorded and made available to participants for ten days following class date.
