Tahya facilitates a holistic mind-body practice that uplifts your mood, increases energy and reduces stress amidst motivating music. No experience necessary.
This class utilizes the Tahya Technique vocabulary of movement, putting together combinations to great music & exploring playing finger cymbals (aka Zills) ~ learn the thrill of the zill*![]()

*Zills, zillia, zils, or sagat, also known as finger cymbals are small cymbals worn on the middle finger and thumb of both hands ~ a 4-piece set typically used in belly dancing… The cymbal was an ancient sacred instrument played by female musicians dating back to sacred and secular practices in ancient North African & Asia. In fact, the word “cymbal” is derived from the goddess Cybele, the mother goddess from Anatolia (modern-day Turkey).

Weekly class includes
– 45 min of dance/movement with integration zill technique
– 10 minutes of stretches
Registration fee: $120 / 8-class session
This class in an immersion into the essentials of belly dance fused with a variety of movements from circle dances and sacred dance arts dating back to the days when the transmission of the Art of Being Feminine was revealed through ancient Dance of the Goddesses and was traditionally handed down from one from one generation to the next, grandmother to granddaughter.
About Tahya: An ACE-certified instructor and ranked among the leading authorities on North African & West Asia drumming and dance traditions, Tahya is an award-winning performer and member of the elite Lehigh Valley College Dance Alliance. A vibrant performer with over 40 years of teaching and performance experience both nationally and internationally, Tahya makes learning easy and believes we all *deserve* to feel good & have fun on the dance floor!
