DESCRIPTION:In this 1-hr program you’ll learn about the Systrum\, an ancient Egyptian hand-held percussion instrument with cymbals that slide on transverse bars creating a shimmering jingle when shaken\, a predecessor to the tambourine often played along with the frame drum.\nThe systrum was played in combination with the frame drum in festive community processions.
